A Poem – I See You!!!

It’s that time again, time for a poem. These poems (A Poem – He’s Fine!!! and A Poem – I’m Bored!!!) are written from the bottom of my heart and I hope someday to publish them but most of all, most of all I hope that one day way off in the future when my son is grown up and we have gotten to the end of this horrible fight we are in, when my son is grown up and he is happy in life, because he will be happy once we get all this shite around school out of the way, he will read these poems and know that I see him for who he is and know how much I tried to make things better for him.

I really fucking tried.

I See You!

I see you,
How much I love you if only you knew.

Since the day you were born you allowed me to see,
The beautiful boy you have grown to be.
Your amazing smile fills my heart with hope,
Especially on the days when we are struggling to cope.
Your big brown eyes they sparkle and shine,
Even when you are in a decline.

You struggle with giving me a kiss and a cuddle,
This makes me cry so much I end up in a puddle.
You hurt me with words and hurt me with hands,
And often give me lots of demands.
But no matter what, I’ll always be there,
Even when I am in the pits of despair.

There are very few people who truly know,
The version of you you’re able to show.
But here in our home, you’re free to be,
The amazing boy only we get to see.
With no need to mask, no need to hide,
Just love and safety side by side.

Each day that passes I will advocate for you,
I’m your protector, your voice and shoulder to cry on too.
I’ll meet your demands,
And when you can’t do it, I’ll be your hands.
I’ll cheer for your wins, no matter how small,
And lift you up when you stumble or fall.

When the world for you becomes too much to bear,
This house is your saviour to get out of the glare.
A quiet space where you can rest and be,
No judgment, no pressure, just you being free.
And know that I will always be there,
To love, protect and show that I care.
